In fact, that's a bug. In previous versions, the plugin was able to ignore the quoted replies. That's easier to detect in text mails, but it's harder in HTML formatted mails. I'm guessing that the format for HTML replies has changed a little. I'll be sure to fix that in the next release.

Cheers,
However, the plugin also becomes active, when answering a mail or writing a follow-up, i.e. when the text references to attachments are not in a currently/newly written text, but in the quoted text from a previous email. Wouldn't that be a candidate for optional user preferences?
Attachment Scanner Plugin for Snow Leopard - Prodriveurn:md5:9c283ff3b4ca8692476aaab6ec79e3a52010-06-21T10:24:37+02:00Prodrive
Hi,
after update to 10.6.4 and Mail 4.3 ASP Mailbundel doesn't work anymore.
Will there be an update?

Currently, Mail.app [4.2 (1078)] with Snow Leopard [10.6.3] runs just fine with the plugin--as long as I keep composing in English. French and German do not work as far as I could test it. After some testing, it seems that the .po files are not rendered and the fall back is used (Tested by changing the msgstr in some .po files prior to restarting Mail). Is the Source of 0.9.8 beta4 publicly available, so the community could look into it? thanks!
your ASP plugin (beta Vers.) is very useful. But it doesnt work with German words. Only with the word: "Beilage". But there are many other words, like this:

Beilage
Anlage
Anhang

beigelegt
beigefügt
angefügt
angehängt

Hope the newer version will include this words.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. I had been using the previous version(s) for years. I even ran the 2 terminal commands, but it just doesn't seem to work. Is there any test that I can do to determine if the plugin is even loaded?
Demystifying Mail.app Plugins on Leopard - Kris Van de Vijverurn:md5:c6e2beab56d718c89d013a7262f91c8c2009-11-15T11:59:25+01:00Kris Van de Vijver
Hi,

I couldn't find an e-mail address, so I'm posting this as comment: I was trying to use your ASP plug-in, but it appears not to be compatible with Mail 4.2. Are you going to update the plug-in? I love the idea of attachment scanning!

Best,
Mail works similarly to that, but it's not a function that gets called — it looks at the Info.plist file of the plugin. You can update that file yourself with the PluginCompatibilityUUID found in Mail.app and Message.frameworks' Info.plists. I should write a script that does this, which I'll probably include when the plugin comes out of beta :-)
Demystifying Mail.app Plugins on Leopard - daveurn:md5:b50b8124a47758e956dfba69db3017d02009-11-11T19:08:41+01:00dave
Would love to hear an answer about the adding "here is..." etc to the plugin.
Also, off topic, but in all your experimentation, have you come across a way to set a delay in sending mail? I (and many of my co-workers) often hit "send", then immediately say "Oh, crap, I shouldn't have said that" or "Oh, one more thing".

I know I'd love to have a message sit in "Outgoing" or somewhere for 45 seconds before sending out, but I can't seem to come up with the method to make that happen.
If this puzzle intrigues you, I'd love to hear what your solution might be
Attachment Scanner Plugin for Snow Leopard - Kiran Burn:md5:2f20c2296c55bc3abcf35b8d073537602009-11-10T08:42:08+01:00Kiran B
10.6.2 updated disabled the plugin again :(
How does the Mail application know the bundle compatibility version? Is it that Mail calls a function in the plugin which is expected to return the version?
If it is the case, can you put that version entry in the Info.plist. The plugin bundle can then return the version from the plist by reading the entry. This would allow the User to bump the compatibility version whenever Apple updates the version. All he has to do he update the plist :)
Demystifying Mail.app Plugins on Leopard - Johnurn:md5:2012fa47603d07e401b457db6942c64c2009-11-10T03:32:46+01:00John
10.6.2 will not load the Beta 3 plugin.
Attachment Scanner Plugin for Snow Leopard - MIurn:md5:a56636cd1a3a25d07fe24d0bf6ad92852009-10-24T18:18:35+02:00MI
Hi James, I want to write a Mail plugin that asks a confirmation before sending a message.
